Peugeot unveiled the first images of the model 508 to replace at once both the 407 as 607. The new line, in sedan and wagon, will be presented to the public at the Paris Salon in September, but sales will begin in 2011.
Peugeot has not released technical details and engine model, but revealed a diesel version with Stop & Start system (which powers off and the engine stops) and other hybrid HYbrid4 engine with 200 hp and all wheel drive.
The French carmaker has adopted a more conservative design in the new line that leaves the elongated headlights and huge lower air intake that characterized the brand models, becoming more like the German car. The Peugeot 508 comes to compete with the Ford Fusion, Volkswagen Passat, Chevrolet Malibu and Hyundai Azera, among others.
